French Louis XVI ormolu and marble lyre mantel timepiece.
Enamel dial with Roman numerals signed .A.D.F.
(monogram of André Furet, who was clockmaker to the King of Spain

along with his associate François-Louis Godon.
Further calibration for half seconds and date,
pierced and engraved gilt hands, blued sweep seconds and date pointer,
movement with pinwheel escapement mounted on the tapered backplate,
gridiron pendulum with sunburst bob forming an oscillating bezel
knife-edge suspended from the finely cast and chiseled lyre-shaped
case surmounted by a sunburst mask with a garland below,
the whole mounted on an oval moulded ormolu mounted white marble base.

Late 18th C. French marble and ormolu skeleton clock
signed Faizant à Paris. The base in griotte red marble
on ormolu toupee feet, white marle columns surmounted
by a polychrome enamel arch, support and dial, of
absolute exquisite quality. In the middle, a rather
unusual sheaf of chestnut tree branches.
Skeleton movement with 31-day calendar indicated by
a finely pierced blued steel hand, the two main
hands of pierced and chafed gilt brass.
Two-weeks autonomy twin-barrel movement with anchor
recoil escapement, silk suspension, countwheel
half-hourly strike on a silvered bell, five-studded
star shaped pendulum.

French late 18th C white marble and ormolu multiple-dial skeleton clock signed Lepaute à Paris.
The main enamel dial surrounded by gilt sunrays, with all indications using arabic numerals:
the inner circle with red indications of the 31 days of the month, the middle setion
with its usual twelve divisors, and the outer indicators for the four quarters.
Finely cut ormolu hour and minute hands, all the other hands in blued steel: center-sweep seconds,
date, day of the week and month of the year.
Subsidiary dials for the moonphases and age of the moon above,
the months of the year below left and the days of the week with corresponding zodiac signs on the right.
Circular movement with countwheel strike and vertical hammer on a single bell, pinwheel escapement
with knife-edge suspension, the escape wheel with 60 pins all on the same side.
Marble base with six ormolu toupee feet, two back-to-back spaniels with baskets on their backs
supporting the whole assembly, make it very likely a unique model.

signed Adam Thomson, London, circa 1840.
Silvered moulded bezel to a silvered engraved
Roman and Arabic dial, with blued steel hands
and sweep seconds hand, moonphase aperture below XII
with blued steel and silvered moon,
recessed subsidiary discs for day of week and date,
the eight day movement with four ring turned
and tapering front and back screwed pillars joining
unusually shaped plates, single chain fusee with
unique coup perdu escapement with a ten-pin
escape wheel turning upwards into the fork,
maintaining power, supported on a double scroll frame
above a walnut plinth under glass dome;
steel rod pendulum with calibrated rating nut
