carriage clock signed Paul Garnier (circa 1880)
on the dial ans on the backplate.
Halberd blued steel hands,
crab-tooth platform
escapement with bi-metallic balance
and blued steel balance spring.

Grande Sonnerie gilt carriage clock with alarm and calendar,
annular enamel dial with Roman numerals signed Henri Capt Genève
with subsidiaries below for day of the week, alarm and date,
all set in a finely foliate engraved gilt mask,
similarly signed movement numbered 18562 marked and made by Drocourt,
ratchet tooth lever platform escapement with bi-metallic balance,
alarm and strikes on two gongs, trip repeating grande sonnerie
striking with lever for grande sonnerie/silence/petite sonnerie
at the bottom, similarly numbered unusual gilt brass case
with moulded dome top with oval glass panel and surmounted
by a shaped handle, corner columns flanking the beveled glass
panels on all sides, moulded plinth raised on block feet.
Maltese crosses fitted on both barrels, autonomy 1 week.
Height 20cm handle raised.

red arabic numerals for the quarter markers, and red signature
Martin à Bagnol (North of Limoges in the Massif Central).
Double rack strike on the hour and two minutes past the hour, single
half-hourly strike on a sivered bell. Alarm set by a third hand on the dial.
Finely cut blued steel hands with brass tips, steel alarm hand.
Eight-day movement with simplified maltese cross winding stops on both barrels,
anchor recoil escapement with silk suspension.
Alarm system set by the steel hand on the dial,
and wound by pulling the string on the left side.
Height (with carrying handle upright): 30cm

Very rare French Capucine from the Consulate period (1799-1803),
signed on the front plate
and on the underside François Marie Sonard de Morez
En montagne Dep du jura le premie julliet 1801 (sic).
Enamel dial with Arabic numerals, plus the quarter hours markers,
finely pierced brass hands,
steel bued alarm hand. Eight-day movement
with simplified maltese cross winding stops on both barrels,
very unusual pinwheel escapement with silk suspension.
 Swiss-type quarter rack strike on two bells,
the single hourly strike on the large bell, the quarters on both bells.
Precision alarm system set by the steel hand on the dial,
and wound by pulling the string on the left side.
Overall height (with handle raised) 26cm

with shaped handle over the architectural top,
rich mouldings, reeded side columns on a stepped base,
the round enamel dial set into a frost-gilt mask with Roman
numerals and blued steel spade hands to the twin barrel
movement with large silvered platform escapement
and cut bi-metallic balance, half-hourly strike on gong.

columns with foliate decoration, rich moulding and fluted
block feet, the signed white enamel dial with Roman and

lever platform escapement with bi-metallic cut balance wheel.
