early 18th C, signed Sicot Düjardin à Versailles. Enamel dial
with Roman numerals
and arabic five-minute markers, pierced blued hands and engraved alarm
disc,
Single barrel four-movements with shaped plates and ring turned knoped
pillars
similarly signed, verge escapement and silk suspended pendulum, pull
wind alarm
on a bell, pull wind quarter repeating on two bells with three hammers,
single barrel with tandem drive, countwheel half hour striking on a bell,
ormolu lined turtleshell veneered Tête de Poupée case surmounted
by a shaped finial, pierced frets backed by blue silk to the sides
and foliate scroll mounts flanking the hinged glazed bezel,
enamel signature plaque signed Sicot A Versailies (sic!),
rectangular plinth on claw feet.
